Campaigning for affordable housing

There is a housing crisis in the Netherlands and housing corporations play a crucial role in solving it. Maaskoepel, a federation of 22 housing corporations in the Rotterdam region, asked us to develop a campaign that positions them as a discussion partner for municipalities when it comes to housing policy.

We developed an online platform about how housing corporations can contribute to the housing crisis and they are part of the solution, not the problem. Our main message was a simple one, but one with ambition: “30,000 new social houses. It’s just possible.” On the platform you could find the manifesto, along with all the news, events and articles on the subject.

We were also present during the housing protests. We just handed out protest signs and buttons that were gratefully used and we received a lot of exposure on national and local TV. We will approach politicians directly and indirectly with the manifesto and remain active on social media until the special Gewoon Wonen Event where all the politicians involved will be present.
