Open Rotterdam has been a visible and well-known media channel for years. But it was time for a fresh identity. Open Rotterdam gives a lot of new talent a stage. This means that many people will start working with the new identity. So we had to make sure it’s accessible to work with, without losing sight of the brand’s core values.
We created a light, dynamic rebrand that focuses on animation and online use, but translates easily to offline. The ‘O’ became a framework from which stories can be told. And the existing wordmark formed the basis for a custom-made font. We kept the green, but gave it an extra kick.
