Open Rotterdam has been a visible and well-known media outlet for years. But it was time for a fresh identity. Open Rotterdam gives stage to a lot of new talent. This means that many people will work with the identity. So we had to make sure that it is accessible to work with, without losing the core values of the brand.
We created a light, dynamic rebranding that is focussed on use for animation and online usage, but that easily translates to offline. The ‘O’ became a framework from which stories can be told. And the existing word mark formed the base for a custom made typefaces. We kept the green but gave it a little extra kick.
